I have a recorded mocap, and I followed the intructions from ipi site for how to add the mocap to a biped

But thats where I have issues.

Should i create a biped and attach it to a character first or load the animation onto the biped and then attach it to the character.

Both ways seems to blow up my character since the biped becomes huge when the animation is loaded.

This seem to be a problem of your 3D MAX workflow, not directly related to iPi Mocap (if I am wrong then please correct me).

We would appreciate if 3D MAX experts on this forum could comment on this thread.

Very Brief (I assume you are an intermediate Max User)

1. Get an standard biped. import the BVH to it. Play it and see if it works

2. Then save the bip file out.

3. Now load your character file which needs your biped you rigged the character with. Open the bip file.

thats it!!

If you have Cat rig:

4. Save the biped file again from your rigged biped character.

5. Open the catrig with your character and Load the Bip file.

THats it!!

This took me over a week to figure it out and have a workflow. This is very basic. I have folders for BHV,BIP and Catrig. Just incase i need to go over a an animation.
I love Catrig because of the animation layers plus you can edit the world cordinates so easily. I can make a mo cap tutorial for max if this is useful.

I have no idea how to use motion builder as 3ds max served my purpose

But i found the process a abit easier now.

You don't need to rig the biped to your character anymore.

Instead just import the BVH to biped. Then save it out and import the file in catrig. Done!

AND WORK WITH METRES!!!

Anyway About tutorial. This is really basic, What do you need help with?
