We need to wait till the software starts using the rgb data to track the head,
probably the head tracking with a motion controller will be used only for whom
want to acquire better accurate head movements, as with the hands. Anyway
I still think if the software algorithm could search for a baseball cap or some kind
of clown nose (I'm serious), the tracking will be more accurate and faster.

This software already makes some kind of "miracle" with video game devices. The
resolution of these devices are too low, recalling all my research with the kinect
in recent years, I'm sure they are already pushing it to the limit, the use of the
rgb data to differentiate members could be one of the last relevant improvements
(I'm talking only about the use of Kinect), but a option to combine the use of
cameras and kinects, or the release of new devices with better resolutions, certainly
will contribute dramatically to improve the motion capture.

I haven't tried it but, yeah, I think so. It should show up as a third device. The limitation is that you can associate devices only to left and right hand bones right now, thus the 'hack-around' solution for the head bone.

in fact, it could be great to be able to add motion controller data to ANY bones.
i agree it sounds strange, but as the process of work for hands bones, why put limitations about this?

we could make some crazy experiment :)

The head tracking is really hit and miss(more miss than hit) right now with the default tracking (I use a kinect set up) adding the ability to have a controller would really make Ipi more useful out of the box right away.
My vote is for the ability to add controllers to every bone.

Thanks for the video tutorial, results are just great. I hope will get that as a "real" feature in ipisoft soon, although you have shown us it's already possible now.

+1 for low cost hardware controllers easy to attach to head, wrist...

That's awesome guys! Thanks for officially supporting for this feature. Can't wait to try it this week.
