I have a addon in gmod.
I want to use the ragdoll/player model in the software.
How can I get this to work so that the recorded sequence can be used in sfm

I have tried several models from https://garrysmods.org/. I see they are in MDL format, which is not directly supported by iPi Mocap Studio.
However, there are tools for converting MDL models to SMD format, which is supported:
  • Use StudioCompiler to decompile MDL to SMD.
  • Use VTFEdit to convert textures from VTF to TGA which are referenced by SMD.
After importing a model and retargeting animation to it, you can export the animation in DMX format for use with Source Filmmaker.
