One thing that often happens for me when tracking is that after the tracking algorithm loses track of an arm, suddenly multiple arm joints can often change 180 degrees in only one frame. I cant think of any real-life motion where this would happen (unless the arm is suddenly broken) so introducing a limitation would be a good idea and allow the tracker to perhaps catch up with the arm in the next frame instead of completely losing track which often happens now.
Perhaps if you dont want to put in limitations for the angular velocities, it would be a good idea if the user could select the max angular velocity / frame for the scene. If the motion is a simple walk in low pace, we could use benefit from setting a low max angular velocity such as 20 degrees / frame. For more fast-paced motion the could be set to no-limit or 90 degrees/frame etc.
