I'm not sure if this is possible, but I saw the polaroid cube + in action. It's able to send Hi-res video to a smartphone and be controlled by one. Something like that is a bit more expensive, but for a one person operation it might make things easier to manage if you could get your video without having to run cables or worry about USB 2.0/3.0 throughput and stuff like that. I don't know how plausible it would be but it might be an attractive mid range solution if you could add cubes by just seeing them in a list of streaming wireless cameras once you turn it on.

We are now in the process of investigating the ways to use action cameras with our software.
However, streaming over Wi-Fi does not look as a practical feature for our usage. Modern Wi-Fi networks have bandwidth comparable to USB 2.0, and that is sufficient for simultaneous streaming of 1-2 cameras only. Most probably, we could only use wi-fi to control the cameras. But records from many cameras will be combined offline, from files on SD cards.

Yes, Wi-Fi has not been optimal in precise data transfer use, i.e. dropouts, even if for any amount of time it is bad and depending on what unknown interference is in the recording area.

It may not affect the tracking process much with iPi if this occurs, depending on length of drops, but iPi recorder usually detects camera drops and stops the recording and that cameras recording will fail, thus interrupting the process if all cameras are on one machine, or loss of that cams video from point of failure, if used with the distributed recording process now in iPi Recorder 3.

The multiple step process of combining videos through a slave machine may work, but still isn't optimal through Wi-Fi data transfer.

It would be nice if someone could develop a reliable driver for the PS4 Cams and an adapter for the PC to get better video resolution.
