Hello all... I am using ipi recorder Version 2.2 with two Kinect, Version 1 sensors

I recently filmed footage in a big hall with no windows. I only had the ceiling lights on. The room is very big!

I had two of the cameras set side by side and aimed towards the actor as suggested in the instructions.

Problem is that there is a lot of heavy yellow in the background? Please see the attached image.

I played around with the lights to see if turning some on or off would help. I saw no difference.

Is there something I can do to fix this?

I was able to get a good calibration. But in ipi studio... It had a real problem tracking the legs. It may be that my actor had shorts on. Not sure.

I am currently using ipi studio version 2.6
My os is Windows 10 64bit

Hi
Much yellow in the back is quite normal in this case because those points are beyond the Kinect depth range. The floor looks shiny, and that may explain yellow on the floor right behind an actor, where reflection angles of Kinect's IR emission are low.
Yes, you're right suggesting that loose shorts can affect the tracking in a bad way.

Thanks vmaslov... I appreciate feedback. Yes... The floor is shiny. It was the only big room I could use. I can't find anything with carpet that big.

The very max depth range is 5m (15 ft) from the sensor for Kinect v1, outside of that will not return any usable data for tracking properly anyway.

Best to stay within 3m of the sensors, but Kv1 has less close to sensor range than Kv2, keep that in mind also.
