I added a keyframe (Fist) for Right and Left hands in my project.

Since I never change the hand pose, in ipiSoft it remains the same as expected:

However, once I export (Target: Blender) and open the Bhv or Fbx file in Blender, two issues happen:

(1) The hands reset to default pose for about 1 frame every few hundred frames:

Blender Frame 123:

Blender Frame 124:

(2) Also, after a certain amount of time, the hands just reset to default and do not revert to the expected hand pose:

I'm using 3.4.16.212.

Hi
I've taken a quick look. It seems there is some issue with updating finger poses before exporting.
Please try the following sequence:
  • Make necessary edits to hand poses
  • Save project
  • Reopen project
  • Export animation
Does it solve your problem?

That worked, thanks for the quick response!

If it helps you find the bug, I didn't get to close the project, instead I actually closed iPisoft, then tried to immediately reopen the project, but it got stuck in the loading screen. I actually had to reset my PC for it to open the project for some reason.

Common issue, usually all I have to do is delete the start keys from both hands and re-apply them, if it's only one hand pose used throughout the entire ROI.

If using many hand poses throughout the ROI, I usually go ahead and add a last hand pose at the final frame of the same as the one prior, or if it is a looping animation, I add the start pose as the final frame of the ROI.

Also, a question for iPi, when you make manual hand position corrections, not adding an actual hand pose key, the system puts a hand key there anyway, then I have to go back and delete those keys in order put my own back in, is this a bug?

I don't feel it should be doing this, because many times it puts a key that is so small you can't see it and have to zoom the ROI to that area just to remove it.

Can this issue be looked into, Thx.

That's intended behavior. Manual edit of finger rotations effectively creates a new keyframe so that transition to a new pose from previous one was smooth. This keyframe is created with the default length of 10 frames (as far as I remember), and you can adjust the length as needed using the timeline.
When you delete a keyframe, you effectively delete a hand pose set by that keyframe (pose is taken from the previous keyframe). Thus discarding your manual edit of finger rotations.
Sorry, I did not get why you need to delete these auto-created keyframes.

No, not finger rotations, just from moving the hand bone manually, sometimes even when manually adjusting the arm bones it adds keys to the hands also.

They have to be removed before a new proper hand pose can be set, or it will conflict with the animation wanted.

I may be able to do a screen recording of the issue to better relay it to you soon.

Yes, edit of bones other than fingers should not make new keyframes. If it actually does then it's a bug. A screencast of this issue will be helpful.

The issue with updating finger poses before export is resolved in v3.5.0.214.
