Hi!

I already have one Xbox Kinect on me but would like to purchase an Xtion - do these work together as 2 depth camera-setup?

Thanks guys!

Hi
Yes, our software supports a configuration with the mix of depth sensors.
It is not recommended though, because you may encounter more problems than with a single model config. But that's your choice ;) Once up and running in iPi Recorder, they should work fine together.

The issue is the SDK for Kinect v2 no longer supports Kinect v1.

I'm curious if the old OpenNI drivers will work, unfortunately I can't seem to find the correct driver :\

Kinect SDK v2 supports only Kinect 2 devices.
Kinect 1 (including XBOX 360 version) is supported with Kinect SDK v1 (1.8 latest) or older PrimeSense drivers for OpenNI.

iPi Recorder can use both Kinect SDK v1 (for Kinect 1) and Kinect SDK v2 (for Kinect 2). But the devices itself cannot be mixed in a single record currently because they have different hardware specs (sensor resolution, FOV etc). Recorder can only mix devices with similar specs - like Kinect 1 and ASUS Xtion, for example, which both are based on the same internals.

If you are limited on budget, I recommend you to get second Kinect for XBOX 360. You can use 2 or 3 Kinects for XBOX 360 with our software and a single PC.
