I have managed to create 2 Tutorials just for Daz 3D Users.

This covers creating motions in iPi and Transfering the motion to a import character.

Thanks and Cheers

Both cover the same subject of transferring Motion for Daz3D

We were unable to export collada from DAZ 4 like you had done. It always fails. From DAZ 3 (Victoria) it works, however, if I import that to iPi Studio as a target character and export the animation with it, it doesn't look right in DAZ. Maybe there is same kind of problem with the bone mapping that you had (there's no pelvis in Victoria's skeleton, though). The only way we have been able to get it work, is to export t-pose as a bvh-file from DAZ and use that as a target character in iPi Studio. The drawback of this method is, that you only see the skeleton of your target character in iPi Studio...

I watched the video and it looks like Bones is using DAZ Studio 4, which I believe has an updated Collada export from 3.

D|S 3's export wasn't a true Collada, but a "DAZ Collada" mainly intended to help get D|S scenes into Carrara (which failed).

Try assigning the Pelvis.

I exported out of Daz4 The first time. But I dont know how it worked.

I have since not been able to export a DAE file from Daz4.

But I do have the rig and the motion transfers fine from iPi to a BVH for DAZ4 Genesis figure.

Maybee its just the demo limitation?

First, sorry ppe, I misread your first post. You ARE using Studio 4.

Bones, the problem ppe is having is that he is using Victoria 4, not the Genesis figure as you are using. V4 doesn't have a pelvis bone, but Genesis does.

I'm playing around with Studio 3 and 4 as well as Michael 4, Vicky 4, and Genesis. I'll post if I figure out anything.

Addendum: for some reason, now I can't export a .dae from Studio 4 either. I think this calls for a bug report to DAZ.

We actually had to revert to DAZ 3 (and Victoria, since it doesn't have Genesis) because there's a plugin we need and it is not available for DAZ 4. Otherwise we would use Genesis as well. It was good to know about the pelvis bone, so thanks for that. I'll have to experiment with it so that I'm ready if we can move back to DAZ 4.

Apparently DAZ is aware of the Collada bug and is working on it.
