Post subject:  Ipi with Brekel facial capture preview render

Hi gang. A while ago I posted a message stating that I was working on a series Max Adventure http://www.facebook.com/pages/Max-Adventure/236163316508393, utilizing Ipisoft and Brekel facial capture together, for the entire run of the series. Here is a preview render http://youtu.be/7s2KIJGfXEE(not broadcast quality) of the two blended together and audio synced.

Nite, but that darn Brekel killed my system.
Wanted to try it as it seemed to have head and hand tracking from Kinects without having to use PS3 Moves.

Be nice is hear something from iPiSoft on updates and upcoming features.
Haven't been a peep in a while.

Did it really? How if I may ask? I was using Zign Track at first, but they system is real finicky when reading the markers. While Zign Track can capture more movement, Brekel was easier to set up and captured every single time. Using it in concert with Ipi has been great.

Hi,
Yeah the OPENNI installation seem to screw up KinectSDK install
Brekel Free just would not see my Kinect and would crash, tons of various suggestions from various forums, nothing helped. Then couldn't get KinectSDK to reinstall

After 2 days of trying to clean my system up again and remove OPENNI and the changes without success, had to drastically format boot drive and reinstall WIN7. Fun Fun.
Reinstalled everything, reinstalled iPiSoft, KinectSDK, etc etc and all worked fine.

Then after talking to Brekel, just went and installed the Brekel PRO Trial that uses KinectSDK 1.7, worked like a charm.

So the moral of the story is, avoid the open source kinect driver and Brekel's FREE version and just play with the Trial and if you like, flip for the $99

It has it's pluses.
Simple Head & hand tracking with no PS3 Move controllers needed
Intergrates with MotionBuild streaming live
Saves as FBX or BVH directly live while capturing.
No post processing.
And finally, supports up to 2 person capture, although nothing complicated.

Drawbacks, currently only supports 1 Kinect

WOW! Good golly! I'm sorry to hear that you had to go through all of that. Yea, I purchased the Brekel Pro Face and use that with the iPi DMC and all works great, (Although I need to tone down the eyebrows on my guy, haha).

Happy to hear you're up and running again.
