hi, im not sure whats the purpose of importing bvh into ipi studio, but my guess is that the imported bvh data can be transfer into ipi default figure skeleton( source bone) ?? but i cant figure out how to do that. to simplify my question, does ipi studio allow the source bone acts as a target bone, so that the imported bvh can be transfer into the source bone? how to switch the role between source bone and target bone? thanks! |

I'm also wondering this. If possible I'd like to use iPi Studio to do some retargeting of external animation data. Is iPi Studio capable of this? |

Is importing .bvh a new feature? (Sorry, I'm not at home to check this out.) As far as I know, in past builds you could only export .bvh from DMC, not import. That said, this could be a handy feature for people who don't have access to Motion Builder or other retargeting app. I imagine the imported .bvh data will have to conform to iPi standards for it to work properly. Yeah, you can import it, just like importing a target mesh. Doesn't seem to do much though except play back. Maybe it's so you have a reference when solving or something. It would be super cool if it could retarget at some point though, MotionBuilder is expensive and Animeeple is too picky about bone hierarchy to be able to use it on a lot of motion data. |

yes you can easily import the data,it could be retargeted but it eill be quite expensive . You can do this by motion builder but software like motion builder are expensive. Animation Studios Animation Studios Delhi |

I think you misunderstood--we're talking about importing .bvh into iPi Studio and doing the retargeting there, not into Motion Builder. I don't think iPi Studio can retarget non-native .bvh but I've never tried it . (FYI, I currently use Motion Builder.) G. |
