Hi, am new to iPiSoft and am loving it so far. I am noticing one slight issue when dealing with the "Actor" skeleton that Mocap Studio captures onto. It seems that you can adjust the overall height of the skeleton, but that the other sliders only adjust the size of the geometry, is that correct?

The issue I am having is that my legs are longer than normal for my height, so when iPiSoft is solving, it places the hips in the correct location, but that leaves the too-short legs of the Actor dangling and over-extended, as they cannot reach the proper location of my feet. I can make the Actor skeleton taller, but then the solve for the torso becomes awkward.

Is there any setting that I'm missing that can help with this? Is my main option to find a happy medium with the Actor's height, run Import Target Character, and get the best motion transfer that I can?

Thanks all!

Hi

Yes, you're right about the available adjustments. Unfortunately, this is an actual concern with an actor's model in the current version of software. Sorry for this inconvenience.
We plan to add more settings for the model in V3, including limbs length.

Thanks for the confirmation. What is the best way to deal with this as is? All I can think to do is two solves at two different actor heights, and combine the upper and lower body performances later on in Maya?

Nice idea, I've never tried to do in such way. Maybe it will do.
Do you mind providing us with your sample video (along with the scene file if using multiple cameras)? That will help to make proper suggestions for your situation, and possibly serve for future improvements. You can use some file sharing service like DropBox for this.
