Hi,

I think I know why its not working.

Is there anything moving in the first 30 frames of the video?

There has to be no movement for the first 30 frames.

Also, You HAVE TO Move the left corner of your region of interest in the timeline selector below.

To the red arrow, Before you press the tracking button.

In your picture I see that its not.

I hope that helps.

Cheers

Apart from the light of the computer, nothing is moving during the first 3 seconds of each video i have recorded.

In the quick start guide, the "Set the beginning of Region-of-Interest (ROI)" step is after the "Refit pose" step, so yes i haven't set the ROI yet.

But i'm going to try that.

Thanks, :)

Hi guys, :)

I haven't managed to get the "Refit Pose" step working properly so i have recorded a video of me following the quickstart guide :

If one of you have 10min, please tell me what you think i'm doing wrong.

Thanks, :)

Your video card (NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE) is not compatible with our software. Your video card supports Shader Model 3.0, but you need a Shader Model 4.0 (DirectX 10) compatible card to use our software.

Our software is supposed to report this problem automatically but it failed to do so because of some bug. We will fix this bug with lack of proper error message, but you still need a compatible card to our this software.

EDIT :

I read the wiki FAQ about video cards processing time per frame here :
http://ipisoft.com/en/wiki/index.php?ti ... Video_Card

So i guess i can buy either a NVIDIA Geforce GTS 250 or a ATI Radeon HD 5750.

Can you tell me if this kind of video card will be able to work with the future software updates or should i buy a better video card compatible with future updates ?

Thanks,

I would go with something much better. I used a GTX250 over a year ago and the performance is acceptable but not especially fast. I have since upgraded to a GTX 460 and the increase in speed over GTX 250 was astonishing. I understand that speed is significantly faster now with current cards from nvidia.

As for nvidia vs. ATI, I would go for nvidia. Over many years I've run into more problems with ATI graphics cards than I have ever had with nvidia graphics cards.

I followed your advice Greenlaw, i ordered a Nvidia GTX460 and a new computer. I hope this will work well with this hardware.

I will post my results when i receive the package.

Thanks,

Cool! I hope it works out for you. The GTX460 isn't the fastest thing out there right now but I've been extremely pleased with the performance I get from mine with iPi Studio.

I think that the second digit in Geforce model number is the most significant key to the speed. My new 550Ti is just slightly faster than older 250, although there are of course some differences between the manufacturers as well. I would have bought 560Ti, because there was a good offer at the time, however, I was afraid that my PSU wasn't going to be good enough. ATI's display adapters are less hungry for power but since their Linux support is not as good as NVidia's, I didn't really have a choice. The desktop computer at the office has a Geforce 560 with 2GB of memory and it can track faster than 1 second per frame if nothing else is going on. *sigh*

A GTX560 should perform faster than that; my GTX460 (over a year old) can track at 0.67 secs per frame. But of course as you noted the computer should not be processing anything else at the same time.

I would have gone for something faster but hardware requirements made me choose the one I have. I chose a smaller card that was more efficient because my computer case is smaller and I did not want to upgrade the power supply. Also, the price was under $200 at the time, which was all I really cared to spend.
