You also need a Bluetooth receiver. Bluetooth might already be built into your computer but if not, a simple USB stick will do. (I use a stick.)

I'm using a pretty old Kensington Bluetooth adapter. Sorry, I don't know the exact model or if it's even available anymore but I imagine you can get a better one for a bit cheaper these days. IMO, if you go with a good brand, you should be okay.

There was some problem with the Windows 8 Bluetooth drivers but I think that's been fixed in the current release.

If you're still uncertain about which one to purchase, do a search in these forums--iPi Soft and other users have posted what models they use with info on which ones work well with iPi Recorder and which ones don't.

Regarding extension cables, make sure you use a USB Repeater cable, a.k.a, Active USB cable. This is NOT an ordinary USB extension cable--an ordinary USB cable's signal degrades with distance.

A Repeater cable typically has a box on the end that boosts the strength of the signal and allows you to daisy chain several such cables while maintaining the signal strength.

This is the type I use:

You should know that they have a USB 3.0 version. I guess in theory it should be faster but I haven't tried one yet. Also, it costs quite a bit more than the 2.0 version and for shorter length.
