Well ... the 960 was underwhelming. It appears I would have been better off with a pair of 750ti's.
I got about a 20% increase, compared to the single 750ti. At least the 960, like the 750ti, responded well to running 2 copies of Studio, getting me about 25% more fps combined, compared to a single Studio. Running a 3rd copy gained nothing (maxing out the CPU, for one thing).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary (With 6 cams, and everything checked, plus shoulders from Video, and flexible spine)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
fps (spf)
---------------------------------------
0.726 (1.377) 750ti
0.890 (1.120) 750ti (2 Studios)
0.870 (1.149) 960
1.020 (0.98) 960 (2 Studios)

The 2 studio needs to be split? it's 1/2 of what you posted? 960=50.1 f/s on each is still ok, but yes, not incredible. I would rather have the 1 at .87 how I process.

Is that 750Ti the gaming model, the one with 2 fans or has just 1 fan?

Can I ask how much you paid for each? Less than I posted earlier?

Correct. .51 for each for a total of 1.02
Have to agree that the .87 is likely to be more significant (btw, I've seen (oddly), #s between .8, and .87, on what I thought were the same captures),
which makes the margin from the 750ti even slimmer. Fortunately, the 960 will pay off in other areas, being a pretty significant improvement for a number of tested games.

The 750ti ftw (2 fans) was on sale a few weeks back for $130, $110, after rebate.
I've been seeing used ones on ebay for $105, and up.
Looking at CamelCamelCamel, this card has been regularly hitting the $130 price, and the $20 rebate had been pretty regular the previous couple months. Don't know if there is a temporary shortage at the moment, while the 960 gets introduced, or what, but that particular card is kind of pricey at retail currently. Nice thing about the alternative 750 ti sc, is that it's a single fan, a much shorter card, and I don't think it needs an external pci-e power connector, which is kind of amazing. It's very close to the ftw, speedwise, though it wouldn't have as much overclocking potential.
To my annoyance, the 960 was much longer than the ftw (or my old gtx460), and my full size (but not huge) case meant I had to relocate my data drive, to make room for the card. Well ... actually, just a little longer. The trouble it created made it seem like more.

Mike.

Ok Mike,

Thanks for posting your info., just that .30 increase in f/s would help a bit, I thought it would be hard to get 1 to 1 with one card and don't really need 2 now just for iPi or Games I am associated with, maybe later.

I am looking into the upgrade and see if I can catch a sale soon.

Yeah, I am not into used on video cards, unless I actually knew the previous owner, even refurbished is a bit iffy.

Even a brand new card can be bad, so it's a crap shoot anyway, but usually easier replacement with new if it's bad.

If you run across a deal on a new 750Ti Gaming or a 960, (I prefer MSI for their catalyst control center and afterburner, just preference), shoot me an email.

Thx

Thanks for posting this info. I'm thinking of getting a new computer system later this year and this thread is helping me decide what I"m going to need. :)
