So having 2 K2 is not as good as having 4 PS Eyes ?
What about 2 K1 vs 2 K2 ?
Based on my experience, having 2 Kinect for Windows produces comparable mocap quality to having 4 PS Eye cameras. The disadvantage is a smaller capture space. The advantage is easier setup, calibration and capture.
As stated above, 2 Kinect 2 for Windows should result in cleaner depth data than 2 original Kinect for Windows. This doesn't necessarily translate as higher mocap quality but it should mean fewer tracking errors because the tracker can distinguish finer details. In other words, my understanding is that the advantage mainly comes in less time spent cleaning up the mocap data during tracking.
(Bear in mind that I have only used multiple
original Kinect for Windows so I have not actual comparison experience with Kinect 2 for Windows. I'm just offering my interpretation of the information provided.)
