Hello all my friends ,
I want to know what is ‘Exporting AVI’ used for IpiRecorder. I tried to export the AVI I record with 10 PS cameras. The sequences from cameras formed into in 3 rows well. I tried to do some editing in After effects. BUT ! 10 images were all sort into several parts and joined one frame. They were not 10 independent video files anyway. How to make this grid-like AVI into ONE MUTICAMERA-VIDEO FILE(.ipivideo) again ?
I search all the wiki but I could not find any relevant statement.
I'm looking forward to your answer.

Export to AVI serves for purpose of converting a multicamera video from .iPiVideo to conventional video .avi format which can be viewed by any video player. If you need to make some changes to .iPiVideo file to use it with Mocap Studio then use Save/Save As commands.

I know the .ipivideo can be edited directly by IpiRecorder. But the capability of video editing of IpiRecorder is probably too weak I think.
Why not to edit it in some professional software such as AE, Nuke, and bring back to Ipi Mocap studio?
I don't think it is a bad idea for preparing for the tracking.

There is no such thing as "preparing for the tracking". If your video is poor quality that leads to much tracking errors then the best way is to re-shoot. Once you set good conditions to get good quality of video (basically, lighting and actor clothes) then you won't need to tweak it in any way, just track in Mocap Studio.

I believe the .ipivideo file contains capture data specifically used by iPi Mocap Studio for tracking, and a lot of this data will get stripped from an exported .avi file. The .avi option is probably there as a convenient way to output reference material for other uses, not as a way to improve the data quality using another program.

IMO, Vmaslov is right by saying if the recorded data quality is too poor to track in iPi Mocap Studio, your best option is to re-record it properly. That should take a less time and effort, and a lot less frustration.

Hope this helps. Good luck! :)
