Hi
We didn't test such setup ourselves. However, I've found this article which mentions using Surface Pro 3 with Kinect v2.

Thank you for the article. It will be helpful to me. I have successfully run the Kinect X Box One on my surface Pro 1. I guess my question properly stated is if I would be able to run the IPI Motion Capture software with it.

Thanks for responses!

As soon as you're able to connect Kinect camera to your tablet, iPi Recorder should run fine.
However, motion tracking may be painfully slow with integrated Intel graphics. So I'd recommend to use a PC/laptop with discrete graphics for working with Mocap Studio.

I don't own a Surface Pro but I have a Wacom Cintiq Companion 2 Enhanced which is a similar tablet PC. The Wacom works with iPi Mocap Studio with a Kinect 2 so I'm guessing the Surface will too.

The Wacom's specs (recalling from memory so I might be slightly off. If I have time this evening, I'll check it.):

- i7 dual core
- 16 GB RAM,
- Intel Iris 6100 Graphics
- Windows 10

Sorry, I can't recall which USB controller this tablet has. Make sure the Surface Pro has a compatible one as listed in the iPi Soft Wiki.

Hope this helps.

Edit: I just read vmaslov's above post and I agree. The tablet is fine for recording motion but you'll want to do your tracking on computer with a better graphics card.

I should also add that, for Kinect 2 capture, the tablet's performance is adequate but not great. I can get an acceptable frame rate but I know the tablet is working extra hard to maintain it.
