Is it possible to do custom plugins within ipisoft such as with python? Am wanting to do camera calibration in separate process and import data into program. If this is possible with a text based file where camera parameters and location are provided, then this will work. Can camera positions also be exported? Am looking into exporting image planes of camera position to 3ds Max for additional animation.

Is there a limit to the number of action cameras that can be added to the scene (documentation mentions 3-16)? Could number of cameras, for example, range up to 20-100? Can multiple camera be setup for large volume with multiple regions? For example looking if possible to track volume of like 20x60 feet where some cameras would capture entire range of volume while others would only have specific regions of volume visible.

Are T-poses required for beginning of animation setup?

I can't answer the first two questions but re: T-Pose, it's a good idea to record a T-Pose at the beginning of your motion. The T-Pose helps align the performer's joints to the character rig's joints (assuming the character rig is set in a T-Pose.)

If you didn't record the performer in a T-Pose at the beginning of the capture, you will need to add the pose manually before you re-target to your final character rig. Ideally, you want a smooth transition from the T-Pose to the beginning of the motion's pose, which is especially important if you're planning to use hair and cloth dynamics.

Hope this helps.

Scene parameters (camera and light positions and rotations) can be exported to and imported from an .iPiScene file. See Scene tab.
These files have a XML-based text format. It's not documented but it's pretty straightforward. So I believe you'll be able to use it after examining a couple of files.

The maximum number of depends on the edition - 6 for Basic and 16 for Pro. Multi-regional setup is not supported because our tracking algorithm assumes an actor is visible to all cameras. So when an actor (even partially) goes out of view of some cameras this highly increases a chance of tracking errors.

Thanks for feedback. This confirms what am wanting to do for building additional plugins. What would be best way that I could build out PS Move controllers for camera calibration? Wanting to use existing buttons as trigger and perhaps haptic for feedback on calibration. Am also considering adding checkboard to Move controller for intrinsic calibration. Would Playstation camera be required for setup or could other such cameras be used? For example multiple gopros synched or raspi cameras controlled on network? Does PS camera do ball tracking at a lower exposure to best track ball?
