Dear people from ipisoft,

I really like your software and especially the Biomech addon. I am using it at the moment and it works really well. I do have a question. When I want to measure the linear and angular quantities, I can chose relative to the ground and relative to parent joint. But what do you mean with parent joint. So I think for example the femur is the parent joint of the fibula. But what is the parent join of the lower spine, middle spine, chest, and neck. Hope you can answer my question.

Best regards,

Olivier

Hello Oliver,

Pavel has already answered to you by email, but I'm copying his answer here for the history and other forum members:

Quote:
Skeleton structure is shown here.
The root joint (one that has no parent) is Hip.
It has 3 child joints - LowerSpine, LThigh and RThigh.
Chest also has 3 child joints - Neck, LClavicle and RClavicle.
So you can traverse from root joint (Hip) to end joints that have no children.

and

Quote:
RClavicle is the parent for RShoulder.
So if you select the "Relative to Parent" / Euler Angles coordinate system, you get Euler Angles for RShoulder rotation relative to RClavicle.
