Just wondering if anyone has tried this and had any success.

I have an old laptop and when I ran recorder, it cannot even use 2 cameras on it and the quality is terrible.

But I have an idea.

If iPi Recorder can be programmed to trigger/start recording in a scheduled time using your computer's own clock, we can set at least 3 laptops to simultaneously record at the set time with only one video each laptop.

The resulting videos will become high quality and can be edited in a video editing software to be pieced together and imported to DMC. Or better yet, if iPi can also develop a program where you will feed Video 1, 2 and 3 and it will connect the videos together.

I think below is a software that can help sync clocks accurately. And its free.

I've successfully tested it with 1 camera. I will try and test it with up to four of my logitech 9K's and tell you how bad the frame drop is. I'm guessing the frame drop is substantial though. You might be able to get stable 2 camera recording at low resolution. I'm guessing the usb bus, Processor, and slow 5400RPM HDD are all bottlenecks. Now if you fork out the money for a netbook with the atom 330 and a faster HDD or SSD... who knows. I'll still give it a try and report back if I can get a second of downtime.
