This is just an additional markup for timeline, mostly for convenience.
You always have just one Region of Interest, but you can have multiple takes.
Right-click on second timeline track to bring up takes menu.
Takes are useful when you record multiple takes of some motion into one video file. You can have "Take 1", "Take 2" etc.
You can quickly export take by right-clicking on it.

Yes, absolutely. And it saves 50% of USB bandwidth so you can have higher framerate. Currently, raw video is only supported for Sony PS Eye camera.

Yes. These are debug visualizations of various internal data structures. For example, Pose Mismatch shows how good is the contrast between actor and background.
