I was wondering what are the best angles one could use for the camera rig ? I was watching the video you guys have of the dancing man they seem to be separated by about 30 degrees or so, I was setting up my rig so 1 camera was at the front of the actor and the other at 90 degrees from the first camera something like this: ( it is looked from the Z plane ) birdseye view: Code: 0 /|\ ================== CAM / \ | | | | cam however it seems you guys use inclination: Code: CAM / / 0 / /|\ / / \ \ \ \ \ \cam so what's the recommended setup for this ? |

In general, you need 60-90 degrees between cameras. I would recommend to start with 3-camera setup with 60-70 degrees between cameras. Make sure that your 3 cameras are not set up in one line. Set them in semi-circle. It helps setting cameras at different height (like one camera higher then other 2). 2-camera setup is only useful for simple motions. We used it in our 8-month-old demo just as experiment. I recommend 3- or 4-camera setups for complex motions. |

So for a 3 camera setup you don't recommend setting up all the way around the actor? 120 degs apart. A semi circle is good enough? Donny |

Semi-circle should be good enough. An illustration is embedded in iPi Studio. Open a 3-camera video and look at default camera positions. |
