Hi, to begin the capture, I must first set up the T-Pose. So in the Actor-Tab, I can make various settings. Among other things, the morph of the arms. Here I miss the opportunity to set the length of the arms. My problem is, that while recognizing the T-pose, my arms are bent, even though they are. Guess that comes from the fact that my arms are too long. Best regards Stephan |

Sorry for my bad english. I mean: My problem is that while recognizing the T-pose, the arms are bent, even though they are straight. My arms are longer than the arms of the figur. So while refit the pose the software try to lay the hands of the figur over my hands. The effect is, that then the arms/elbows become bent. I hope this is better to understand. Stephan |

Hi, What clothing are you wearing? It's recommended that you have a color long-sleeved shirt (bright red or green may work well depending on your background,) with a black short-sleeved shirt pulled over it. The idea is that this helps separate the arms from the body and makes it clearer how long they are and where they should bend. The black t-shirt serves two purposes: to help separate the arms, head and hips from the torso, but the color also reduces shadows being cast by the arms and head, which may confuse the tracker. G. |

Hi, at the moment I try it with a blue sweater. But I will try to use a red or green pullover and a black short-sleeved shirt. Thanks Stephan |

Just to be clear, the actual color of the long sleeves really doesn't matter as long as it's different from the rest of the body and stands out from the background. In other words, you want to improve the contrast of the limbs for the tracker. |

Info Central, I'm not sure. Possibly not, which may be why emphasis is on contrast. FWIW, I'm using a green chromakey backdrop and I have a red long sleeved shirt under my black T-shirt, and DMC seems to track well for me now, though I imagine the gray values of the red and green may be similar, so I don't really know. I'm pretty sure it's using color to create a difference matte to separate the performer from the environment, and that may be where color choice is important. (This is just my guess about what's happening on under the hood, as it's not actually documented anywhere.) Stephan, I don't know if you're already doing this but one thing I learned that you must to do when setting the T-Pose is to alternate between clicking Refit Pose and Analyze Actor several times. Until recently I didn't realize how important this was, but this procedure seems to have a big effect on improving accuracy after you press the tracking button. It is even clearly stated in their tutorial video, but somehow I missed this step. Since I started doing it, problems like poorly fitting arms and crossed legs seem to have gone away. Hope this helps. Greenlaw |

Stephan, try to set a larger value for actor height. As a rule even for well scaled scenes actor height should be slightly larger than the real height of the actor. |
