Hi,

I am very interrested in your Motion Capture Software. I'd like to go out and buy 4 PS3 Eye Cams and 4 Tripots to test out that pretty awesome Product.

The one thing i want to ask first is, wether it is possible to capure jumping and lading (doing rolls when lading) and crouching.

I hope to get startet very soon as I plan to use it in a bigger project beginning next year.

I've done jumping, crouching and landing, but haven't tried a roll. Just for kicks, I'll try that on the next session.

You might want to check the test I posted on YouTube to get a small idea of what the system will capture. This video is not action oriented because the point of this test was to see specific deformations in three different rigged characters in another program. Even so, the motions seen here on the default iPi rig gives you an idea of what the system can capture.

Here's the link: LGD TestTube

Last summer I did a previs test for work that was a bit more action oriented. It involved a crouching character firing a rifle and being knocked down by a large creature. Forgiving the bit of overacting on my part, iPi Studio captured the motion fairly well. (And this was before the shoulder tracking version came out.) I don't think I'll post this test but I may try another similar session just so I have an action demo I'm not embarrassed to show in public. :)

That sounds pretty cool, I'm planning to do some tests with the demo version in the beginning of january. Hopefully it will be worth posting it here ;-)

I use boom mic stands and zip ties instead of tripods. I also use a small level just above the PS3 mic to keep them parallel to the floor.

I use these:

CowboyStudio 7 FT photo Light Stands and case

I have six of these ($23 for two at Amazon,) plus I tapped the base of the PS3 Eye cameras using a $15 Helicoil kit which is good for as many as 12 PS3 Eye cameras. The c-stands do not have a rotating head like a camera tripod but you don't need that because the PS3 Eye's base rotates. I also like these because they are lightweight and strong. (The carrying case is a bonus.)
