I'm experimenting with ipi just now, and think I've made a discovery.

I was applying jitter removal to very long takes, but was not getting the results I was hoping for. Always loads of trembling, particularly with the arms.

I then tried making the region of interest much smaller and got much better smoothing results.

Also, when a project is saved, does it save the smoothed version, or the raw version?

I think getting these settings right is the key to ipi, so I'd really like to hear what settings others are using.

Jitter Removal is applied non-destructively on top of the original motion. In other words, the 'smoothed' data is saved with your project file but you also have the original unsmoothed data available if you need to redo the jitter removal.

This can be a bug. Unfortunately, we cannot reproduce it. Can you please provide additional information. What was the length (in frames) of your "long" region of interest (that had jitter problem after jitter removal)? What was your setting for "Trajectory Filtering (sharpen/smooth)"?

It saves both. When you re-apply Jitter Removal it uses original raw animation data as input.

I tried this again to make sure it was not my imagination.
I used all options at value 1 and value 1 for trajectory smoothing.

I'm sending you a zip file with a movie, the max scene and the two bvh files,
if you want to look at it yourself.

I did the pink guy over 250 frames(approx) and the blue guy over 900 frames 9approx)

There is definitely a difference
