I have a card that allows me to duplex cameras, I have four slots and four cameras.. It will not recognize them .

Is the only type of video input support firewire and usb? If so, are there any work arounds?

iPiRecorder only works with Sony PlayStation Eye camera and DirectShow-compatible cameras.

If your camera is not DirectShow-compatible, there is no way to use it with iPiRecorder.

We recommend Sony PlayStation3 Eye camera for use with multi-camera version of our system. Of all inexpensive cameras available on the market, Sony PSEye is by far the best camera for motion capture.

Mr. Nikonov, I have already dropped $4,000 dollars in my hobby, I have no problem dropping another grand if this software can do what is advertised.

My cameras are not USB or Firewire, they are however directshow compatible. The software will not recognize a PCI device? Only USB?

If you really want to use your existing cameras, you can record the footage and compositive the video in a format that iPi DMC understands. Some users have done this with excellent results (1k0's Danse Kabyle is a great example. Be sure to look at his 'making of' video, which shows him using two non-USB cameras along with a single PS3 Eye.)

That said, (and this is just my personal opinion,) it's far easier to use the relatively cheap ($30) PS3 Eye cameras and let Recorder all the work for you. The PS3 Eye cameras are nice because their 60fps frame rate reduces motion blur significantly and they are fairly equal in image quality right out of the box (i.e., no tweaking required.) And with the combined resolution of six cameras, the capture space can be quite large too.
