1. Any timeline on head tracking?
2. Any timeline on 2 Kinects at once?
3. Does iPisoft track shoulder movement? It's hard to tell from most of the samples I've seen, but it looks like it doesn't.
4. If the answer to #3 is "No," is that in the works?
5. How about hand tracking? I know the Kinect is capable of it. I understand that takes time and lots of R&D, but I was just wondering if it's planned to add that.
1. I want to know this too. FWIW, it's not difficult to add head motion using an aim constraint, and this is a more certain way to get your character to look where he should be looking in an actual 3D scene. That said, I wish I had head tracking data in my current project. The mocap is mostly done to music and I'm finding that I need to add a lot of synchronized 'head bobbing.'
2. It was posted by Michael a few weeks ago that they planned to release the first beta of this feature in a month. If this is still on track, that should be soon.
3 and 4. Yes, iPi Studio tracks shoulder movements. This was added quite some time ago. That said, I wish the degree of tracking could be adjustable, maybe like CJR. Usually, it works well but sometimes I wish I could push it a little farther. (But I guess that's what Motion Builder is for.)
5. Hand tracking could be useful to me too. I just tracked a lot of ukulele performance mocap an, while iPi Studio tracked the arm motions well, I had keyframe all the wrist action manually.
FWIW, I think what iPi
does capture makes this program an amazing value. Even without the above features, you will find nothing else on the market that works this well any where near its price range.
