The latest release can be downloaded from:

http://www.ipisoft.com/downloads/iPiStu ... .0.119.exe

As new release implements new copy protection technology, we would like to collect some feedback before making a full official release.

As a bonus for early adopters, the new release resets 30-days trial and removes 5-seconds limitation for animation export for Kinect videos.

After installing this pre-release you should skip auto-update (otherwise auto-update will downgrade you to previous version).

Changes in new version:
* New copy protection technology with online activation.
* Updated EULA (section 2.1) to reflect changes to copy protection technology.
* Reset of 30-days free trial. If your trial of previous version has expired, you can install this version and enjoy additional 30 days of free trial.
* Removed 5 seconds limitation on exported animation length for Kinect trial version.
* New visualization for depth videos (the “Hide background” option in “View” menu).
* Updated documentation.
* Minor bug fixes.

I really like it.

It appears to be faster and more accurate. Although it could be illusionary.

Did you do any improvements to tracking, Post Process smoothing or motion transfer?

It appears that all that has improved as well.

I think its official, a whole lot is better....

Ive gained a full second of performance and the motions are smoother still....

Cheers

We implemented minor improvements to Advanced Motion Transfer.

I would like to see a couple of things added if possible.

A more intensive post processing option, I can remove jitter at 1-5 rates, it would be nice to have a 1-10 rate for more fluid / realistic motion.

Please please please, make the arrows for moving the avatar around bigger, I am constantly clicking off to its side and sometimes it will bug and I cant reselect it.

Mouse-over manipulation. Even if I am out of "screen" I would like to be able to continually move the piece I am currently moving without the need to stop and / or re fit the camera angle to reslect it.

Not complaining, the program is amazing as is and I plan on buying it thursday when I get paid.

Would it be possible export the trajectory paths generated as an .ai path for illustrator?

I would hope I can either:

1. Install on two personal systems, i.e., workstation and mobile computer, so long as I only run one at a time.

...or...

2. Be able move my license around as needed. (i.e., be able to activate/deactivate.)

...or...

3. Allow multiple installs but have a server check from when online that it's not running on more than one system at a time.

I use a variety of software which use any of the above, but the most flexible for me has been #3. Some software that uses this method are Luxology Modo and Pilgway 3D-Coat.

The second method has caused me problems on a number of occasions, like when I have a system failure or HD crash and the license server won't let me activate even if the install is on the same computer it was originally licensed to, in which case I have to contact the developer to reset my license. Adobe, Toon Boom, and Marvelous Designer use this method.

Then of course there's the trusty dongle. I have several programs that use dongles and I don't mind them but they do add to the cost. Also, in the case of iPi DMC, they will take up a USB port that may be needed by a camera.

I'm curious to hear what the new license scheme will be. FWIW, I've been satisfied with how it works for me now; it's been flexible and unobtrusive.

The best solution for me is to have two licenses. One rendering (from a batch? soon please) and the other setting up on another computer to send to rendering one. A third for recording.
I would be willing to pay extra for this, but not much.

The best setup I have seen is to mount the software on a flash drive and lock it to it. Works for users that need to take the software with them and IPI knows that only the people who paid for the software is using it.

You can move the application from one computer to another by deactivating it and then activating it again.

Yes, that's how it works in new version. You can move the application from one computer to another by deactivating it and then activating it again.

The new version ( http://www.ipisoft.com/downloads/iPiStu ... .0.119.exe ) implements the new license scheme.

I installed 119 on my tablet PC. This isn't the computer where I normally run iPi DMC but I do occasionally run the software on my tablet when I'm away from home during my lunch break. Tonight I'll see if it allows me to deactivate and reactivate to my workstation at home (where I usually run iPi DMC.)

Would it be possible to have a license active on two systems at the same time, one main computer and one mobile computer? I don't mind if the license system checks that only one is running at a time (assuming connection is available, which I don't have for my tablet at work.) This is more a matter of convenience so I'm not constantly deactivating/activating the software. Not a big problem but I just want to ask.

Thanks in advance for any answer.

Now that a new license scheme will be in place, does this mean we'll be seeing more feature updates soon? :)
