Right now, only 1 Kinect is possible with the software. I am not sure whether iPiSoft will update this to include multiple Kinect. Best, K.

i boughted one kinect.
and after any test the tracking is perfect. clean export to motionbuider via fbx (only 5 sec for trial ...)

but if you need to turn the boby to 360 or 180 ° . so to get a motion capture with arms behind the body it's not possible.
kinect using depth ...

i boughted this afternnon two Eye sony ps3
i'll tried it tomorrow.

i think that i need three camera ?
anyone for correct this ?

a lot without T pose at the start.

without calibrating, and no doc.( bones very special)
the capture are good and detailled.

e moteck is better.

Hi Radiac,

Yes Ive used the iPiSoft Kinect Express with one kinect for 3 months now.

I get really great results.

There are movies here of my demonstrations.

Hi everybody and thanks for the Information.

@MrBones i watched some videos about that Kinect on your Page.

How you handle the arms when they are in the background or hide from your Body? Or what are you doing when you turn your 360 degree around the room?
Can i use Kinect as an hybrid with eyecam and Kinect?

i´ve the standart Edition and 4 Cams.

best Regards Radiac

As mentioned above, right now you can only use a single Kinect with iPi DMC. You cannot use both Kinect and PS3 Eye at the same time. These devices capture completely different types of data for iPi Studio to track.

IMO, if you want to capture full rotation and complicated moves without involving a lot of clean up in post, you need to use the PS3 Eye system. You can actually get excellent results with just four cameras, and even better with six if your computer can support them. The PS3 Eye is also better for fast motions because it has twice the framerate of Kinect, and you can capture larger motions because there potentially is more 3D data available to iPi Studio.

If you can wait, iPi Software has announced that support for a second Kinect, though no specific date has been revealed. It's been suggested that a beta version of the feature will be released soon.

Hope this is helpful.

G.

Hi Green ;).

Yes this was very helpful. Normally i use 4 EyeCams. But ive not a perfect room to use this if i want. Yesterday i try to record some captures... but they all missed.
Since the update of the IPI recorder and the ipi Software it seems, that the camera distances and hights are don´t running automatically. So i do this manual. But 2 of 4 cameras haven´t the right high / distance. The reason can be the small room. But i dont have a good Location to make some captures like i want.
So i need only 11 moves. And for 11 captures rent a room? No ^^".

I bought now the Kinect yesterday. And i try this 11 captures with Kinect-technologie. If they run, then i´m happy. And if ipi work on ipiSoft to support 2 Kinects i´m sure its a good alternate to Eyecams.

But first, lets try the Kinect ;).

Ps. My Game project Pixelsoccer becomes more and more a playable Game. But now we need 11 Animations for smoothy GamePlay. Next Vid coming soon ;). Do u try to start programming a Game Greenlaw?

Best Regards Radiac

Yes, that's one of the downsides with PS3 Eye...it allows for larger a capture space but it also requires a larger capture space. Also, lighting and background detail/color can impact effectiveness. I like my multi-camera setup but I had to find a dedicated space for it, which is not nearly as convenient as the Kinect which you can set up almost anywhere.

Good luck with the Kinect and the soccer game!
