Hi everyone!!
I'm new to this forum.
I'm writing to ask if somebody knows how can I get the result shown in the ipiStudio splashscreen, the skeleton of a man whit a rope.
Should I set up the bones for the rope in my 3d modeling software?
If yes, how do I then do its mocap in ipiStudio?

iPi DMC only tracks the human biped form. The current version doesn't track objects, so you will have to set up the rope in your animation program, probably using a cloth simulation.

Hope this helps.

This is actually supposed to be visualized hand trajectory, not a rope.

That's right.

Can we possibly in the future be able to export the trajectorys as spline paths for use in other 3d programs?

Why would you need that?

In many applications you can parent or constrain an object (i.e., a null or locater) and bake the path in world space. This should give you the path you want. Hope this helps.

If you actually want a spline object of the path, that might require custom scripting to create this object in your program of choice, since that's a fairly specialized object.

I would need that for a myriad of reasons.

One reason is for a client, He wants to attach .DXF Hand Models to the Trajectory path that is generated inside iPiSoft.

His company creates CNC machinery. He wants to create Training and Demonstration videos so that he can win Larger accounts within his company. He has provided me with a movie of his project and it is an avi file of several CNC parts coming together from an exploded view. He says That if he could have the trajectory paths created and illustrated from iPi, He could attach Hand Models so that they move in space the same way that the parts were assembled .

Its hard to explain, But it would be great If we could export those trajectory paths as .AI or .DXF files. for use in other 3D cad and Animation programs like Truespace.

Also, You could simply attach particles to those paths and or extrude them as nurbs curves for modelers.

Imaging creating a Tornado Model complete with Particle Animation just by twirling your finger in front of the Kinect in a circular motion.

Thanks and Cheers
