WOW! I've never experienced that. Just to make sure I'm understanding, is the ground plane floating above the character? A few questions: Are you using a laptop or a desktop? In general, laptops don't have a proper video card capable of handling IPI's capture. That may be your issue (the video card), but again, I don't have as much experience as others on here do. Also, what cameras are you using? If you are using the Sony Eyecam they shouldn't need calibrating (from what I understand).
Ipisoft cannot track hands or head turns. Those will have to be animated separately. However, what you can always do is place reflective stickers on your fingernails then import the video as a background into your animation program and Rotoscope manually the finger and wrist motion. But it's easier just to keyframe the fingers.
