Hi, we have been using iPi at DigitalDimension for a few weeks now, and I must say that it works pretty well and it is a wonderfull tool for our animation team, but there is somehing that have been bothering me.

When I capture the videos, I always try to capture a 640x480 video, with 6 PS3Eye cameras, using diffenrent framerate. It seems to wotk just fine, but, when I look at the video's resolution, I always get 1920x960.

So if we divide 1920 by 6 and 960 by 4, we get 320 X 240... So where is the error? Where is my 640x480? I have the same issue if I try with less camera.

Would I get 640x480 with a better computer or there is just something that I don't get?

Here are my computer's specs:

That's actually correct and it has to do with how the data is stored in each channel when using RAW Bayer. When using RAW Bayer, a pattern used in the channels so that when all channels are combined and properly interpolated (or debayered,) it forms a full 640 x 480 resolution image. This is not a scaled image but an actual 640 x 480 image.

I seem to recall that there was a more technical explanation of this a while back in these forums but that's my 'layman's' version. :)

If you want more info, look here:

This probably explains it better than I can.
