There are projects out there showing realtime creation of point clouds and then turning those point clouds into models using the RGB cameras..

ipisoft is already calculating those point clouds.. it would be cool if ipisoft would add the rgb data and you could see your self in 3d and in COLOR. ..

or are there any other projects going on like this ?

Hi Punk, I too suggested this..

I think it could be a performance issue.. They want iPi to keep running fast.

Currently, with the PrimeSense driver for Kinect, it collects point cloud data. As I understand it, the Microsoft driver does not. If ipisoft switches to the Microsoft driver when it becomes available for commercial use, then any effort they put into developing with point cloud data would be wasted in regards to the Kinect.
