Just got me an xbox kinect and installed the Primesense drivers but for some reason, the new drivers don't work. I even uninstalled them and reinstalled as adminstrator but it still didn't work. My system is Win 7 64. I checked in the device manager and it says the drivers are not digitally signed. I have been reading on the net that others have had the same problem. How have others here been able to overcome this problem?

No, I have never had a kinect. Could never get Ipisoft to calibrate with an eye camera so I decided to try the kinect. Where are you getting your Primesense drivers from? Maybe I installed the wrong thing. Can you share a link?

Haven't installed an updated one. I will do that. I read somewhere that using the kinect doesn't require calibration. Is this correct?

It may not be defective,

Did you plug the Kinect into a AC power adapter and Y cord?

What exactly does not work?

Thanks and Cheers

Its all plugged in, AC to power and USB to computer. The kinect does not respond period. I installed the Ipi recorder, ticking the kinect driver box. The driver is there via the recorder but the recorder says there is no camera available. In the device manager, it shows a yellow exclamation mark for the kinect.

If there is no light on the kinect then it is probably defective.

However if it is properly powered...

Try uninstalling that yellow exclamation, by right clicking on it and uninstall.

Then unplug the sensor and restart then plug in the sensor.

Cheers
