Is there a log file of ipi DMC? So for instance I could just let it run through the work without any modification when arms are blocked by the body and after this ipi jumps to those areas where it had problems. Alternatively what about letting blocked arms and legs behave according to physics, ie ragdoll physics instead of jumping around. Or include a multi camera PLUS one kinect setup. |

Multi-camera configurations are suited just for that kind of motions - so any part of the body is always visible to at least one of the cameras. alice.de wrote: Or include a multi camera PLUS one kinect setup. Mixed configurations is one of the research areas we will touch during the work on the next major version. |

vmaslov wrote: What do you mean by log file? Diagnostic messages? What I mean is that your software has an internal confidence value, how sure it is about a point in space. When an arm is jiggling around it has no data, confidence should be zero. If you allow api access to the software or at least log files showing certainity for each frame, one could implement one's own auto correction using just one kinect. PS: Please reply faster this time. |

In simple words, iPi Mocap Studio uses global optimization to find optimal position of character. As a result some extremum of cost-function is found. But there is no guarantee that this is the global optimum. And there is no known way to check it in appropriate computation cost. You can see the cost-function value as a red number in the left-top corner when Pose mismatch view mode is on. The lower the value, the better. But having the result value of the cost-function we can't say how good is the pose. |

So I have one kinect and several digital video cameras here, one in my mobile phone, another one in my digital photo camera, one in my ipod, one in my camcorder. What would be the best approach to creating good motion captured data without much correction? |

It may be considered in the future versions. |

Nothing specific yet. PS. I think you could be more polite in your expressions. |
