I'm looking into capturing and working on a macbook pro, which is a popular option for some artists with only 1 kinect or a couple PSX cameras. I'd like to use 6 PS cameras, as well as 2 ps controllers for wrist.
The macbook pro only has 1 usb controller, and I want to know if you have experienced any problems using the thunderbolt port, such as a tool like this-
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/HELIOSTB1/which will have a 2-port USB3.0 card installed, with a usb2.0 hub attached. Exactly how much usb bandwidth is needed for full 60 fps capture, via 6 cameras?
In the support documentation it sounds like I'd only be able to add 2 cameras this way.
Quote:
"You can plug not more than 2 Sony PS Eye cameras to one USB controller, otherwise you will not be able to capture at 60 fps with 640 x 480 resolution."
So what if I had 2 thunderbolt ports- connected 2 cameras to each hub- then plugged 2 into the main 2 usb ports on the macbook pro?
