That's right. I bought 2 Sony motion controllers, a USB dongle and a charging cable. I set up my Asus adapter by installing the software that comes with it. I automatically downloaded the Microsoft drivers. Everything's installed fine. It says the "device is ready". I look into the "devices and printers" area of the control panel and there is the icon for my Asus adapter. Looking good so far.

But when I open Ipisoft recorder and press on the "add device" button, nothing happens. The space is empty. My Sony controllers are not recognized. It says: "Make your devices discoverable". Well, my controllers are charged and I pressed the PS button and I wait... and wait some more... nothing. Is pressing the PS button all I have to do to make my devices discoverable? Thanks.

Yes, you need to pair the controllers to your computer. Once you do this, you should be good and you shouldn't have to do this again unless the devices get paired with another computer or console.

The steps are described in the wiki but if you still need help, come back and I'll talk you through the steps later this evening. (Sorry--have to go out right now.)

I had read the wiki. My USB adapter is ready to recognize my 2 controllers. Is the PS button the only one I have to push to get my controllers ready to be recognized (paired)? Thanks.

Who says this? Do you see this message in iPi Recorder?

What's your OS? If you are on Windows 8, then you need to install Motion in Joy drivers.

If you are on Windows 7, then the pairing is completed within iPi Recorder. Press "Add New" button, then "PS Move" button. If your Bluetooth adapter is recognized by iPi Recorder, you'll see the prompt to connect PS Move via USB. After connecting via USB for a short time, you are asked to press the "PS" button unless the Bluetooth connection with PS Move is established. When all is successfull, the led on PS Move is constantly on.

I am on Windows 7. When I click on the Bluetooth icon on my taskbar at the bottom of the screen, the one that the Asus mini USB disk installed, that's when a window pops up and says" Make your devices discoverable".

When I click on the Ipisoft 2 recorder icon. and then on the "add new", and then on "Playstation move", I get "Seeking Bluetooth adapters. Please turn on your Bluetooth adapter". And then there is nothing. The program is still "seeking"... What do I do to "turn on (my) Bluetooth adapter". Thanks.

I have a small bluetooth icon on my taskbar that has bluetooth related options including adding devices. I've never had to use this for the PS Move devices but if you don't see the icon, perhaps whatever software you use to manage bluetooth devices hasn't been launched?

I don't know this for certain, it's just a thought. Hope you can get yours working soon.

FYI, I'm on Windows 7 too.

If it's an ASUS USB-BT211 dongle, it may have the issue of not working properly after rebooting. To solve this, just replug it.
When you see the Bluetooth icon in the system tray, it should be working properly.

Also ensure that your BT adapter is discoverable by BT devices. Follow the procedure in
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/change-settings-for-a-bluetooth-enabled-device
(under the To control how your computer pairs with Bluetooth enabled devices header)

Thanks Greenlay and Vmasmov. I tried everything you said, and then some. I checked and double-checked everything. I followed all instructions under the sun. In the end, I even had a computer specialist come to my home. He did everything I did, to no avail. All he had so say (which I hadn't noticed) is that, as soon as he pressed the PS button on the Sony PS3 motion controllers, all icons disappeared from the "Devices and Printers" section of the Control Panel. He couldn't fix it either. But he only charged me $10 for the gas.

With a heavy heart, I returned the motion controllers to where I bought them.
