Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section.

What are the recommended specs for a laptop? Processor, Memory, usb ports. I see you recommend a camera, please recommend a couple laptops or specs.

I currently have an Abus 2gig ram T5500 duo, running the built in webcam and a cheap external webcam (just for testing). The cache indicator is constantly full but not red at 320x240. In 640x480 the indicator is red and only records 2secs before stopping.
So I realise I'll have issues if I try running 3 logitechs at 640x480.

I was reading on the forum about usb problems on a desktop using the same port causes usb bandwidth problems. Is this common with laptops? Hopefully your answers will clarify this for more.

Once again, excellent software, looks like a definite purchase for me within the next 4 weeks. How long does your current price offer last for?

Most dual-core laptops are not fast enough to capture multi-camera video at 640x480.

In future versions of iPi Recorder, it will be possible to use camera built-in MJPEG compression if camera supports it. For example, many UVC-certified (USB Video Class) cameras support MJPEG compression. Camera-side compression saves USB bandwidth and CPU time and should allow recording at high resolutions on laptops.

For now, I recommend that you capture at 320x240.
