Hey guys,
First of all I must say amazing software , hassle-free and intuitive interface. Got awesome tracking with utmost ease.

But my problem starts now. I removed jitters, made it smooth and exported the fbx and bvh both for Endorphin(2.5.2) and MB(2013). When I import the fbx and bvh to Endorphin simulation character AudioMotion2, It does not animate the character, the character stands there for a length of time and then finally falls.

I was thinking it may be because of difference in FBX version , but I then got Autodesk FBX converter and converted into all possible formats to retry but had no luck.

With MB I tried to impose mia_characterised with the animation without any luck.

Is there something I am missing ? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi
First I should mention that I have no expertise in using Endorphin. I've managed to get an animation to Audiomotion2 character in Endorphin 2.7 LE after reading the help for a while. Had no luck with BVH for some reason - the import dialog does not show any bones, but with FBX it was ok. Here are my steps:
  • select simulation character (the help says for importing animation it should have a matching reference character as well)
  • press "I" for importing animation
  • select FBX exported for Endorphin from iPi Mocap Studio
  • in import options, you have two options:
    • check "Create animation event", then animation will be imported as animation event, and you can see it when press "Simulate" button
    • uncheck "Create animation event", the animation will be imported as a sequence of keyframes, and you can see it when press "Play" button
For proper scaling, use "Inches" unit when importing.

With Motionbuilder it should work perfectly,
Can you give us more details of how your exporting and or importing into motionbuilder,
It should go like this import Mia as an fbx,
Then merge the FBX of the Motion you want to put on mia, click the ADD namespace button upon merge.
Then change the input of mia to character. if it doesn't play you have drag a character asset from the browser to characterize your bones
if its a bvh import it and drag character to characterize the motion skeleton then change mias input.

Endorphin is more tricky. You should read Endorphin's user guide carefully for instructions. Just importing the motion into Endorphin is easy (you just import it and that's all) but applying the motion to a simulation character (standard character or Audiomotion character or custom character) requires creating a "motion transfer event" and lots of other steps inside of Endorphin.

Wow thank you vmaslov, eyepies and Michael Nikonov for amazing support and apologies for late reply.

I think I would rather say my problem statement and may be you guys can help me a bit. I am getting a feeling that I may not need MB/Endorphin at all.

So I want to capture the motion using ipisoft, and simulate a character (say .obj file). After that I want to add a cloth to this character (e.g. a shirt) and want to see how it turns out. I have been trying to make it happen since long time , but may be I am taking time because I am new to this field and unfamiliar with the terms.

If I take the bvh to Cinema 4D and and align a .obj T pose to the skeleton and bind the bones with character , there are some humanly impossible moves happening (e.g. sometimes the elbow joint rolls more than it can in real life). And I came across that motionbuilder/Endorphin corrects this behaviour. Is this true ? Or is there any direct way I can use it ? I am going to try what eyepies suggested now using motionbuilder , and will definitely ping you eyepies if any help needed.

Also attached fbx file for reference.

Thank you guys in advance
