Rotation is relative to the location of the 'parent joint' that the device is 'attached' to. For example, if you're holding a device in your left hand, the rotation will be at the wrist. If it's on top of your head, the rotation is at the neck.

If you attach the device to a prop which you will carry in your hand, the location will still be relative to your wrist, assuming you maintain a firm grip on the prop. If the grip changes, you need to manually change the orientation of the device in Mocap Studio for the range of frames where the change occurs. You can do this by setting different frames ranges for each orientation and applying the data. FYI, this can actually be a bit tricky to do smoothly and precisely so it's best to maintain a firm grip as much as possible.

PS Move does not provide position info, only rotation. When used with PlayStation 3, the position info is computed by analyzing the image of PS Move's glowing sphere provided by PS Eye camera. We do not plan to implement this sphere tracking as the software already tracks the whole actor's body.

Currently we have no specific plans on extending support for PS Moves. However, we may think about it while working on v3.

As Greenlaw has already answered, the point of applying the PS Move's orientation info is determined by the bone it is attached to in Mocap Studio.
