Been a while. Curious on status of any v2.0 updates/timeline.

In a short time (within several weeks), the major update to Mocap Studio v2 is expected including:
  • 2 persons tracking
  • multiple video cards support
  • batch processing
  • official support for tracking with 8 cameras
All these features are for the Standard edition only. In other editions, they will work in the trial mode - no animation export.

presumably the 8 camera support would be 8 x PS3's and not 6 PS3's and 2 Kinects for example?

Yes, it's 8 PS Eyes. Mixed color-depth configurations are still not supported.
Recent releases already support 8 PS Eyes, but this feature is marked as "experimental" (there is a corresponding warning). In the new release we just remove this warning. Some of our customers successfully track with 8 cameras for a long period of time, so we may consider it as stable now.
Support for 8 cameras is especially actual for multiple persons tracking.

I figured that would be the case. I just hope the next version cures the crashing that I have with my GTX 680
