I've just created some animations in Ipi using dual kinect, but I'd like to speed it up a little bit (maybe x 1,5).
Is there any way to do that? I've tried MotionBuilder, but as far as I could tell, it only speeds up the playback on the viewport...

In Motion Builder you'll want to bake the motion as a clip in the Story Editor. Story Editor is MB's non-linear editor. Once you have your baked motion on the timeline, you can squash or stretch the clip to change it's timing. If you add more motion clips to the timeline, you can even blend them and mix them in interesting ways. Once you're finished, you can bake the new animation out and export it as a new FBX.

The details of the process is way too involved to go into with a forum post so I'd recommend looking at the Motion Builder documentation and going through their tutorials. Even better, visit the 3D Buzz website--they have some great Motion Builder tutorial videos there and it's where I learned much of what I know about Motion Builder. Another good source is Digital Tutors--this is a pay service but they have a few really good basic workflow courses there. IMO, most of the really essential knowledge is covered by the 3D Buzz guys and their MB tutorials are free, so do that first. Then, if you need more information, try Digital Tutors for a month.

Hope this helps.

Great answer, as usual, Greenlaw!
I'll definetly study Motionbuilder. Even though it may seem a little intimidating, once I don't want to do anything fancy (maybe speed up the animations and clean up some movements) I don't think I'll have much trouble, using the tutorials you mentioned. Thanks for pointing out the direction.

If the Motion is a bvh file,
You can open it in a TXT editor and change FRAME TIME .
The lower the number the faster it goes.
or use BVHacker http://www.bvhacker.com
it does the same thing for BVH files
