Hi,

I've bought a PS Move for using it as the calibration light and head tracking of a 4 PS Eye configuration I'm building. To connect the PS Move with my computer I go to iPi Recorder, click Add New, select PS Move and then follow the instructions. When I connect the Move through USB my computer recognises it, but in the next step when I have to hit the Move button for the Bluetooth pairing it doesn't work, the orange circle keeps spinning...

I'm using a XPS 17 laptop with built-in Bluetooth, should I buy a Bluetooth card? I've used my computer's Bluetooth with my phone without any issues...

First note that you should hit the PS button, not the Move button. And you should hit it many times, each time when the red LED goes off, until it is on constantly. Here is the video of pairing procedure:

Bluetooth adapter should be compatible with BT 2.1 EDR specification to support PS Move. All modern adapters do that. However, with certain adapters you may experience transmission delays or data loss when PS Move is at the distance from the adapter. In that case, it may be worth getting more powerful USB Bluetooth dongle like ASUS USB-BT211 or TrendNet TBW-106UB/TBW-107UB.

Additionally, you definitely want a USB bluetooth dongle, not an internal card. The dongle has the advantage of being able to be attached to a USB repeater so it can be brought closer to the performance area. This helps recorder pick up a stronger signal from the Move devices, and you may experience less interference from the computer and monitor. For me, anyway, the PS Move controllers work more reliably and accurately this way.

I you have an available card slot, it may be wiser instead to fill it with a compatible USB 3 controller if you need one. :)

Yesterday I installed Windows 8.1 on my computer because I was having some problems with W7. Today I've finally paired the PS Move with my computer, using MotioninJoy drivers. I've followed all the steps in the wiki tutorial, and I think now it is actually paired because the red LED doesn't blink and I can even do the 'Vibration Testing' with DS3 Tool.

Now the problem is that when I open iPi Recorder it doesn't show my PS Move as it is supposed to do. If I try to do the W7 procedure (Add New->Ps Move, etc.) it doesn't work.

I don't know what's happening right now, but at least I'm closer to the solution.

Try the following:

• ensure in DS3 tool that you have installed MIJ drivers for both BT adapter and PS Move (green check next to item)
• exit the DS3 tool
• switch off PS Move (press PS button for about 10 seconds)
• switch on PS Move, ensure its LED is red constantly
• run iPi Recorder or hit the Refresh button
