Hi

XZ plane (Y = 0) in Mocap Studio always matches a groundplane defined in the scene (usually by the calibration process).

When using 1 Kinect, the axes are oriented similarly to Kinect SDK. Origin is at 3 meters distance from the camera.
When using multiple sensors/cameras, the origin and X, Z directions are defined during the calibration depending on the specific geometry of camera placement.

Anytime in Mocap Studio, you can recenter coordinate system on the character. There is button for this on the Scene tab. The origin (for X, Z axes only) is moved to the current position of the character, and coordinates are rotated around the Y axis so that the root bone ("Hip") faces +Z direction.
