I am flummoxed as to why I am getting lots of no depth information when using dual Kinects (I have far less when using one kinect), and why when calibrating I get no good frames. I refer you to my video that I have uploaded here: http://www.filefactory.com/file/2yvt17j4uikv/video_2014-06-24_13-56-44.avi

Yeah! You think? hmm. I had not thought of that one :P

Well, all jokes aside I am trying to work out what I am doing wrong. Is it me or the software
?

First, you need a couple of "clean" (no actor in the scene) seconds at the video beginning for the software to evaluate the background.

Next, the board seems to be too reflective for IR light. That leads to high mutual interference of the Kinects - there is too many yellow (undetermined depth) on it. Try simply not to cover the board with paper - maybe, it would be better. Also, slightly move either of Kinects to find the position where the total amount of yellow is minimum.

Another problem - improper movements of the board. You turn the board too much, but do not move it enough. The board should mainly "face" both sensors, with slight turns. Also move it back and forth and left to right for 1m.

Finally, the sensors seem to be directed to high. Try to turn them a bit lower. This will allow them to see the actor's feet (you'll need this for capture anyway), and also to see more of the floor to determine the groundplane more accurately.
