Hi, I was wondering how sharpen Jittering actually does. I work a lot with batch pipelines, so i was wondering how to get the best sequence. I read that traking,refining, jitter remove at 2, refinining again and then jitter remove at 1. So what exactly happens when I do the second jitter removal? Is the original movement somehow chached and a setting of 1 deletes some of the removal I did before or is the second removal just removing a little bit more? Do you guys have other suggestions for batch sequences? Thank you :) |

Hi Refine (and Refit) differs from the primary tracking in that it does not use the pose prediction from the previous frames, but rather works on the current pose in the frame. So, after you do the first jitter removal (with more aggressive settings), it removes initial jitter from the tracking. And when you do the second refine pass, it operaties on already un-jittered frames, again trying to better match them to a video. Thus, partially discarding the effect of the first jitter removal pass. But still, the poses after the second refine pass are expected to be less jittery than after the first refine pass. So, you can apply jitter removal with less aggressive settings to keep more details of the motion. Of course, the exact sequence of passes leading to the best results depends on each particular video: kinds of motions, quality of the data etc. You should experiment with different settings for Jitter Removal to find a proper balance between the smoothness and details. You may find that you are totally satisfied with a single execution of refine and jitter removal. The only constant thing is that the Jitter Removal should be the last pass, because any of the tracking and refines passes will produce some amount of jitter. |
