Am I seeing this right? The software is now basically a rental? The FAQ shows: Is license key time-limited? Yes. We offer 3 months- and 1 year subscriptions. Subscription period starts from the date of license key activation. After license key expiration, you need another key to continue using the software. Disappointing....I was holding out for version 3, looks like I'll pass and find a different solution. |

Hello! Yes, you're right, starting from v3 we changed pricing model to subscriptions. No unlimited licenses anymore. There are pros and cons in both models, we understand that. |

If one owns v.2, and upgrades to v.3, will they be able to have both versions on their computer as separate installs with separate license? |

Very disappointed. Would have been than willing to upgrade. but not interested in a subscription based plan. Will have to switch to another capture software. Already own Brekel. And new update seems worth it. Again, very disappointed with iPi. Wrong direction to go. Even Adobe is catching a ton of flack on their subscript concept. |

Hello andrew, I understand your decision to make a subscription plan from a business point view. But like CManson I'm very disappointed. I was considering an update, but under this circumstances this is no longer an option for me. I was wondering if at least you could change your subscription plan to the following: How about to pay subscription for a year, but after that you still own your copy of iPisoft, but you don't get any updates anymore after that year. For new updates you then need to make a new subscription anytime. This wouldn't put me in trouble using the software when the subscription year is going to end, but still in the middle of production. Basically saying: If it has to be, subscription yes, but only for updates not for forbidding or allowing to use the software in general with the updates you got in the year of subscription. So people could still use the software after subscription ends for installing new updates. greetings vkolo |

/Agree Subscription based is terrible consumer idea. Just going to upgrade my Brekel or spend the money on iClone pipeline. Wish had invested in iClone now instead of iPi. |

Utterly disappointing. This mean the end of IPI to me. Goodbye. |

I just have to echo this concern, it would have to be extremely cheap to warrant it being a subscription. I'll be sticking with version 2. Perhaps renting software is the way of the future but I will resist it for as long as possible on principle. |

subscription! I'm out, totally the wrong way for us. I looked eagerly through the features and was seriously thinking about updating, but now we wont bother with ipi anymore and look for some other software we can actually purchase, not rent. Anyone interested in a V2 license? |
