Just signed up here to voice following concern.

We've been looking into options for capturing 2 Kinects.
Finally decided to go for Ipisoft, only to discover since 3.0 the model is subscription-based.
That's not an option for us. The most obvious reason being :
We want to deal with a single payment and use the software to our heart's content for as long as we like. We'd love to pay for updates whenever it suits our needs, budgets, planning, but like to be able to keep on using the software in the mean-time.

So, here's three serious questions to whom it may concern:
1: Any chance for a change of policy in the (near) future and open up to people looking to purchase 3.0 ?
If NO :
2: Any chance for a change of policy in the (near) future and open up to people looking to purchase 2.0 instead ?
If NO :
3: Anybody any good tips for or experience with alternative software packages ?

I don't particularly enjoy discussing the company's business models. Especially not in public.
If there's any negotiable options I don't mind further communication with marketing over pm or email.

Cheers,
douwe

Hello,
1. Each of models (subscription or unlimited) has its pros and cons.
I do not think we can get back to unlimited licenses. While customer base grow, we will be able to drop subscription price down.

2. We do not sell v2 anymore.

3. There are single-Kinect solutions based on Kinect SDK native tracking, but its accuracy is far from ideal.

Does this mean, subscription price will raise next time if customer base becomes smaller ?

Do You really think, there will not be alternatives in near future ?

Our customer's base is constantly growing, so no reason to worry so far.
We do not plan to offer unlimited licenses in the near future.
