Quick question gang: What is the optimum spacing for dual kinects at a 45 degree angle/ Room is 18x13 feet. Thank all! Pat

Hi If you wanna put the Kinects at a specific angle, then compute the distance between them so that their view directions intersect at the center of capture area. That is, at the distance of about 11-12 feet from each of the sensors. For 45 degrees, this gives you a distance of about 9 feet between the Kinects. Note that given your room's size, you can use 180 degrees setup, placing the sensors at the opposite corners. This geometry better suits rotations and similar motions. |

Thank you! I'll give that a try. I'm having a difficult time getting these to calibrate for some reason. I've attempted both ways of calibration, and is always off; I'm doing something wrong. I don't recall having these issues with the eyecam setup. But I will definitely try the 180! Thank you so much! |

This is the problem I keep running into. The sensors are 180 of one another and approximately the same height. Why, during the calibration, does it show one sensor aimed the opposite direction when it's not?

If you check the calibration statistics, you'll see that the number of "good" frames is zero. That is, the board you were using is not detected at all. You should use strictly rectangular, thin board with straight, not round corners. |

Yep :-) That fixed it. Thanks again :-) |
